Police to inquire into criticisms

PA Auckland The Auckland police will examine the case which let to a Supreme Court judge’s criticisms of the way in which an accused man wa: questioned by three policemen. Chief Superintendent A. G Berriman said that the “police would not set out to be oppressive or intentionally act that way. It would seem that on this occasion, in their endeavours to learn the truth, thr officers may have exceeded the legal requirements. But it is also significant that | there was no suggestion of force or inducement."
