“The Hospice Movement”
Sir, — Lest Ralf Unger’s review of “The Hospice Movement” (August 4) confuses people, it should be made quite clear that supporters of voluntary euthanasia do not oppose the hospice movement. Both movements give high regard to the quality of life, the hospice offering the individual the best in care and treatment while the patient can still enjoy life, and voluntary euthanasia for when life becomes intolerable or of no consequence. — Yours, C. P. SLATER. August 8, 1979.
