New V.I.P. aircraft
PA Rotorua A new V.I.P. aircraft has been imported from the United States by the Civil Aviation division of the Ministry of Transport. The eight-seat Cessna 421 is a twin-engined aircraft which will replace a smaller Navajo aircraft used for transporting Cabinet Ministers and for calibration flights. The controller of departmental aircraft for the Ministry of Transport (Mr P. Milward) said the new Cessna had a pressurised cabin which would enable it to fly much higher than the Navajo. v The Cessna which is being checked out at Ardmore Airport after its ferry flight, will be transferred to Parapara umu, where it will be based.
