Fluoridation support
PA Wellington The Medical Association council supports the principle of fluoridation of water supplies. The council passed a remit at its meeting in Wellington yesterday supporting the principle "in the interests of Community health.” It also agreed to promote fluoridation of water supplies in all areas.
The remit was introduced by the Rotorua-Taupo division, which has been concerned that the Rotorua District Council withdrew fluoride from its water after a council vote on July 19. The meeting also heard that the Christchurch City Council had voted against fluoridation, and an antifluoride campaign was under way in Taupo.
