At Murray Grey national
This 26-month-old bull, Seaview Downs Bugretta, from W. D. and A. C. Power, of Tenterden Downs, Hawarden, sold for $7OOO at the recent Murray Grey national sale and show. It was the reserve champion bull in the show held in conjunction with the sale at Palmerston North. The bull, which went to Gisborne, was one of three in the section for. intermediate bulls aged from 24 to 30 months, which realised from $l4OO to $7OOO.
Among the senior bulls aged 30 months or over seven ranged from $l7OO to $4OOO, with the higher figure going to R. A. Miller (Gore), and A. C. Crawford (Whangarei). Among the 14 junior bulls from 21 to 24 months of age, Surrey Hills Station (Mount Somers) had a sale at $5OOO, but R. M. Twisleton (Gisborne) also realised $9500, T. M. Mulvaney (Takapau) $7250 and G. D. and W. J. Cooper, Ltd (Hunterville) $6OOO. Bulls in this group realised
down to $l4OO. Junior bulls from 18 to 21 months sold from $l5OO to $2600 for three, with A. C. Watson (Sanson) getting the latter price. Five A grade senior females aged 30 months or more also realised from $lOOO to $2350; an A grade junior female in the 24 to 30 months section brought $1100; four A grade junior females from 18 to 24 months of age sold from $l5OO to $2000; and four B grade females realised from $5OO to $7OO.
