Vietnamese refugees
Sir, — I would like to know what would: happen should there be an upheaval of people .in China — 800 million people sending a few million dissidents off'in boats for the rest of the world’s communities to worry about. Far from being compassionate about these, present Chinese boat people, I feel that they have a lot of neck, voluntarily to ship themselves off on the rest, of the surrounding and then world communities. Should Western including our own weak-kneed Governments be as brave and solid in refusing entry as Singapore has been, they would be forced to return to Vietnam or die* This is not New Zealand as we want it. — Yours, etc., C. BULL. July 18, 1979.
