Thomas inquiry

PA Auckland A one-man inquiry into the conviction of Arthur Allan Thomas would have been finished by now but for delays in obtaining information overseas. Mr R. A. Adam-Smith Q.C., would not disclose which agencies he had approached or what information had been asked of them. He said that without the delays the inquiry would now have been complete. The Prime Minister (Mr Muldoon) asked Mr AdamSmith to report on matters raised by the British author, David Yallop, last October. Mr Adam-Smith said his inquiries had been assisted to the “utmost” by the Prime Minister and his department.
