Values backs F.O.L plan
PA Wellington The Values Party has come out strongly in favour of the proposal by the Federation of Labour for a minimum living wage. The party’s deputy leader (Mr R. Thomson) has said that the present economic system makes such a proposal absolutely necessary.
Mr Thomson said the Values Party had always maintained that a guaranteed minimum income for ail New Zealanders should form the basis for any wage system and that relativities should be set over and above this.
