No trace of robbers

No trace has been found of two Polynesian men who robbed a young man of $l4 in cash on Tuesday evening. The victim, aged 19, was approached by the two men outside the Christchurch Working Men’s Club, in Oxford Terrace, just after 7 p.m. He was punched in the face and forced to hand over his wallet, which contained personal papers and $l4. The men took it and ran off. A search by the police, using tracker dogs, failed to find the robbers. The victim of the robbery suffered minor facial injuries, but did not require hospital treatment. The robbers were described as Polynesians, aged between 20 and 25 of medium build, with shoulderlength black hair. Both were wearing jeans and denim jackets, and one was wearing sunglasses.
