Our new pets

We have new pets at our house. They are two tiny mice. The mother is a pretty grey colour, and the father mouse is black and white. They play happily on the wheel or sleep in a nest of tissue paper in a plastic container. I watch them through the glass cage as they nibble at their wheat and small

pieces of carrot. One day soon I am hoping that there will be some babies for me to enjoy too. — by Kathryn Lewthwaite, 65 Reynolds Avenue, Christchurch 5, Aged 7 years. (Your mices’ nest sounds very snug and cosy Kathryn. Please tell us about the baby mice when they arrive.)
