Brief lamb benefit?

Under the new supplementary minimum prices for farm produce announced last evening by the Minister of Finance (Mr Muldoon) which will apply in the new export killing season, lamb at its present price would get a pay-out from the Government. The new Government mini-

mum price for lamb is 86c a kilogram. The so-called benchmark grade for lamb, on which supplementary payments are based, is the PM grade killing out at 13 kg to 16 kg. It brings farmers 82.5 c a kilogram at present. However, it is likely that market prices will be raised after the devaluation announced in the Budget.
