Is it yuk or yum? Lee Jones, a fourth-year chef trainee, does not seem sure as he samples an original lamb dinner,, his own work. Mr Jones and five other chef trainees from the Christchurch Technical Institute have spent the last four Sundays polishing their cooking techniques for a national competition to be held in Auckland in September. The three best will be chosen on July 15, and will join six others from the North Island in a competition to decide which four will represent New Zealand at the Hotel Olympia. London, in 1980. The other three will compete in the InterTechnical Institute competition. The competitions will both be at Auckland in September.
