Easy bowls win for Tomlinson
Noel Tomlinson had an easy win over Graham Partridge in the final of the Canterbury Working Men’s Club’s indoor bowls pairs tournament yesterday. In the final Partridge did not score until five ends had been played, at which stage he was down, 7-0. Tomlinson added a two and a three while Partridge managed only four singles, giving Tomlinson a 12-5 win. Tomlinson battled through a tense semi-final against Shis Hornby clubmate, Leon McLennan, before winning, 6-5. Partridge had little difficulty' in beating Brian Norris, 11-2, in the other semi-final. Results:— Quarter-finals. —L. McLennan 8, A. Dowie 5; M. Tomlinson 7, T. Holden 4; G. Partridge 6, B. Day 5; D. Norris 14. B. Glasgow 6. Semi-finals.—Tomlinson 6. McLennan 5; Partridge 11. Norris .2. Final.—Tomlinson 12. Partridge 15.
