“Learning about love”
Sir, — I should like to commend your paper and the writer, Tui Thomas, on the excellent and inspiring article, “Learning about love from retarded children” (“The Press,” June 8). One phrase deserves special comment: “She encourages them to develop by expressing their individuality and potential so that they will be able to live with dignity within a community and contribute; some purpose to it.” This should be the aim of every parent and educationist whether of retarded or “normal” children. — Yours, etc.,
JILL WILCOX. June 8, 1979.
