Behaviour at rock concerts

Sir,—While one can sympathise with Miles B. Reay (June 6) being deprived of a clear view of Talking Heads at their Town Hal! concert, his assertion that those who prefer to stand and/or dance at concerts are “rude and inconsiderate” and need to be "taught some basic manners

and consideration,” is unreasonable. Naturally, many rock fans wish to respond to brilliant music by doing more than sitting in an armchair tapping their feet. Thus, it is to be hoped that in future the promoters will allow sufficient floor space for those who wish to dance, and arrange this in such a way that seated patrons are not obstructed.—Yours, etc., TIM LANGER. June 6, 1979.
