PA Wellington The New Zealand galloper, Karu, has only a 50-50 chance of running in this year’s Melbourne Cup. A close third in the race last year behind Arwon and Dandaleith, Karu was booked to fly to Melbourne next month, but his trainer, Jack Holmes, has put the trip back a month. "It’s the old ligament trouble again,’’ Holmes said from Levin. "He must have ricked it at the beach or in his paddock.
