N.Z. bishop for Poland
PA Dunedin The Roman Catholic Bishop of Dunedin (the Most Rev. J. P, Kavanagh) left yesterday to accompany Pope John Paul II on his visit to Poland.
It will be the first occasion on which a New Zealand bishop has accompanied a Pope on a big tour.
The invitation for a New Zealand bishop to go to Poland came from the Polish bishops’ conference, headed by Cardinal Wyzsnski. I
