Hockey tournaments for week-end

South Island under-age . tournaments, which the New I {Zealand Hockey Association 1 hopes will be the forerunner to finding national champions, will be held at Queen's . Birthday week-end. { An under-15 tournament with four teams — Ashbur- : ton, Canterbury, Otago and ■ Southland — will be staged in Dunedin, and an under-17 1 tournament with eight teams will be run at Ashburton. Those entered in the latter tournament are North Otago, Marlborough, South Canteri bury, Canterbury, Nelson.

Barrett) I said it was hoped to standardise the tournaments ■in both islands and event[ually have the winners meet 'in a national final, but that I would probably be a couple lof seasons away.
