The strength of junior bad-j minton in Canterbury was again | clearly in evidence when it j [easily won the under 14 and! I under 16 titles at a triangular | tournament with Nelson and Marlborough in Nelson recently. ! In the under 16 section, Can- ; terbury I beat Marlborough. 123-1, beat Canterbury 11. 21-3, and beat Nelson. 21-3. To make certain of Canter-: bury’s dominance, the No. 2 team beat Nelson, 13-11, and beat Marlborough. 20-4. In the under 14 section, the scores were closer. Canterbury I beat. Marlborough, 16-8, and beat Canterbury II 21-3. However, it was beaten, 13-11, by Nelson. although Canterbury! won eight of the 12 doubles contests.
