* * An official Union Steam Ship Company publication reports several interior changes to the former Lyt-telton-Wellington ferry Rangatira for new charter requirements. The work was done at Glasgow after the vessel and the charter of the Chevron Petroleum, Ltd, in Loch Fiscaig close to the entrance to Lochs Carren and Kishom to provide accommodation for offshore drilling platform crews.
The ship is now providing accommodation for British Petroleum at the Sullom Vue terminal. The vessel is moored approximately 170 m offshore with access to the stern door provided by Bailey bridges supported on pontoons.
