Women’s hockey
PA Timaru Canterbury won tno national women’s under-21 regional hockey tournament at Ashbury Park, Timaru, yesterday. With more experienced players, Canterbury was much too strong in all areas of play and their scoring reached double figures in some games. Malvern was the runner-up after a good win over Ashburton in the final round. Winners:— Round one.—Ashburton and Malvern. Round two.—Ashburton and Canterbury. Round three—Malvern and Canterbury Round four.—North Otago and Canterbury. Round five.—Malvern and Canterbury.
