Doctor convicted
PA Tauranga A Tauranga doctor has been convicted in the Magistrate’s Court at Tauranga on 77 charges of contravening the Social Security Act. Clive Anthony Smith, aged 38, had previously denied charges of including the names of dependent members of his family on daily schedules of medical services to patients, resulting in payments totalling $260 being made to him. Mr D. B. Wilson, S.M., remanded Smith at large to May 25 for sentence.
