Spy Troop had her share of attention from a rival runner before she won the Glasnevin Handicap at the Amberley meeting on Saturday. She was tightened for room when Careful Thought ranged alongside near the home tum. Ron McCann then brought Spy Troop wider to make another bid for the lead, and mounted his challenge on the outside of Careful Thought, which was racing greenly and shifting ground. About two strides from the post Careful Thought attempted to savage Spy Troop, but that did not stop Spy Troop from winning by a head.
