Ellesmere rugby
The Ellesmere rugby sub-union “player of the week” award was won by John Grice, of the Darfield under 19 team, on Saturday. Results were:— Senior A.—Leeston 16, Southbridge 6; Lincoln 12, Kirwee 6; Diamond Harbour 4, Darfield 0; Peninsula 16, Prebbleton 6. Senior B.—Sheffield 20, Dunsandel 0; Lincoln 22, West Melton 0; Waihora 14, United 14; Irwell 13. Burnham 3. Senior reserve.—Leeston 19. Kirwee 7; Peninsula 8, Prebbleton 7: Darfield 22, Springston 10; Midland 8, Selwyn 0; Burnham 10. Lincoln 6; Southbridge a bye. Under 19.—Leeston-Irwell 30, Springston 0; Darfield 21, Southbridge 9; Peninsula 38. Kirwee 0; Burnham 17, Sheffield 9; Lincoln 16. West Melton 6.
