Trip well earned
Burnside’s trans-Tasman trip, which began last week-end, represents the first time a South Island club netball team has gone to Australia.
the girls spent all last season earning money to make the 13-day trip a reality. Travelling by mini-bus, they will visit Sydney. Canberra and Melbourne for tournaments involving other club sides. The team is accompanied by Mrs Marie Snow, the coach, and Mrs Joan Smith. Mrs Snow said the trip was a reward for the girls who had given so much effort to the club and netball. Bumside is the largest club in Canterbury. It has 32 teams in Canterbury competitions.
