The Assistant General Manager will assume responsibility for the 'operations' area of the Corporation's activities —the pipeline operations, the gas production operations and any operational projects which have been commissioned, proven and are ready for bringing within the Corporations mainstream activities. This is a job for a professional manager rather than a technical specialist. The requirements are to plan, lead, organise and control these various operations to build an effective, efficient team. It would be preferred if the incumbent is able to spend 12/18 months in the New Plymouth area, becoming familiar with the Corporation's activities there, then move to Head Office in Wellington, and this will be a matter of discussion with the client. We are seeking applications from experienced, successful managers with tertiary qualifications in commerce or engineering. Whilst a background in the energy industry would be advantageous, it is by no means essential. Age range is flexible within 35-50. The Corporation is strongly commercially oriented and the incumbent must have similar attitudes.
