Missing Timaru man in car?

Greymouth reporter A Timaru man may have been the occupant of the mystery car which plunged over a cliff at Perpendicular Point, on the Greymouth-Westport highway, about 10 days ago. The Timaru police have had a report that Cecil Stanley Paul, aged 75, a widower, of Pleasant Point, is missing. According to Constable D. R. Hunter, of Greymouth, Mr Paul was known to be the driver of a Morris 1300. It was a red vehicle similar to that of the wreckage recovered from below the 170 m bluff, on April 29. Mr Paul left Timaru on April 23 on his own, with plans to travel the Coast Road and visit friends at Granity, north of Westport. Nothing has been heard of him since. “From descriptions we have from Perpendicular Point and Timaru, it seems very possible that the car belongs to Mr Paul," said Constable Hunter. The Greymouth police are organising a further beach search, and ask any person who may have met Mr Paul to get in touch with them.
