More pay opposed
I PA Whakatane i Seventy-five Bay of Plenty members of the I Farm Workers’ Associ- | ation do not want a rise I in pay. The group has asked the association to hold a secret ballot to have an increase in rates of pay and alterations in working conditions, or any other matters, in the Farms and
Stations . (Dairy Farms') Award. 1978, delayed until April, 1980. The members concerned said that they feared that a further increase in wages would make labour tort expensive for dairy farmers to employ, therefore jeopardising the position of a big percentage of the junior work-force contract milkers, and sharemilkers.
