•PA Wellington A total of 26,678 persons were employed in Govern-ment-funded special work as at March 16, the Minister of Labour (Mr Bolger) said. The figure was 254 higher than at March 2. A total of 16,997 were employed in special publicsector work, and 9681 in the private sector.
