Concerts at schools
A classical guitarist, Ross Townsend, of Hamilton, will present concerts at four Canterbury schools next month as part of a programme to broaden pupils’ musical appreciation.
Mr Townsend will play works by several famous composers as well as pop tunes. He will play at Timaru Girls’ High School and Ashburton Intermediate School cm April 5 and at Rangi Ruru Girls’ School and Sacred Heart College, Christchurch, on April 6. The manager of the Music Federation of New Zealand (Miss Elizabeth Airey) said that four artists would present a total erf 68 concerts throughout New Zealand as part of the schools’ programme.
