Police discos

Disco dances, organised by the Christchurch Police Rugby Club, will resume in the Christchurch Town Hall's Limes Room on Sunday.

Run on the same lines as last year’s dances, the discos are intended to raise funds for a tour by the rugby club to Fiji and Australia, and to keep young people off the streets.

“There is no other regular

organised, entertainment on that day,” said the organiser, Constable J. Milne.

He had received many letters and telephone calls from parents and had been inundated with inquiries from children and teen-agers wanting to know when the discos would be held, he said. Last year up to 750 young people had attended. Sunday’s disco will run from 1.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. The admission charge is $2.
