Lewis still not fit

PA Auckland New Zealand top tennis player, Chris Lewis, may not be able to play in the eastern zone Davis Cup semifinal against Japan in two weeks. He considers his right shoulder, only just recovered from tendonitis, too weak to risk in the match. However, he has not yet ruled himself out of the tie.

“I will make my final decision tomorrow, or at the latest Sunday, after talking with the captain, Jeff Robson,” said the 21-year-old Aucklander yesterday. Should he miss the tie at Wilding Park on February 9, 10, and 11 Lewis will fly to Florida for further training under the former Australian Davis Cup captain, Harry Hopman.
