Coast alert for alleged abducters
Greymouth reporter The Greymouth police confirmed yesterday that they have been alerted to watch for a missing girl, Annabel Letford, aged six, who rtiay have been abducted from her grandmother’s home in Auckland. The girl disappeared from Auckland on January 5 with her mother — who had lost custody of the child -— and her mother’s de facto husband. The girl’s grandpiother believes they may be hiding on the West Coast. The child is described as freckled, with red hair. The mother has long, curly red hair. Both she and her de facto husband, Xavier Wihongi, are described as “hip-pie-looking,” and do not wear shoes. . . « i '
