Nuclear submarine visit

Sir, — Because of the reactions of those who support nuclear “protection” I would like to impress on

those who hold fast to thoughts of suspicion' and mistrust for any country they purport to be an enemy, that they, are only swelling the seeds already sown. Every country has both congenial and less compatible influences, and _we may disagree at various times; but surely it is wiser to endeavour to cultivate more approaches to understanding, tolerance and friendship rather than entertain thoughts and actions to take up the most horrific cudgels of war ever created, which would ultimately destroy. not only the “enemy’ but ourselves too. I wonder how many supporters of nuclear “protection” sang the words “Peace and good will towards all men” only one month ago. — Yours, etc., (Miss) N. TAYLOR. January 25, 1979.
