All Black ’will tour’
iPA Palmerston North The Manawatu and All Black half-back, Mark Donaldson, will accept an invitation to tour South Africa. Although he has not yet received the official invitation from the Northern Transvaal Rugby Union, Donaldson said yesterday that if he got the invitation he would “definitely be going.” “The only thing that would stop me at the moment is an ankle injury,” he said. The injury is one he suffered while playing for the All Blacks on their recent tour of Britain. Donaldson is one of six All Blacks who have reportedly been invited. The others are Bill Osborne, Andy Haden, Frank Oliver, Andy Dalton, and Gary Knight. The Northern Transvaal union has also invited playiers from Britain and Australia and it is believed players {from Fiji and Tonga have reiceived invitations. | Donaldson said he believed lit was the individual’s right to choose whether to tour, He said individuals, and teams, from many other sports and countries were “playing ball with white Africa.”
