Escaper remanded
PA Auckland An Oakley Hospital ascaper has appeared in the Magistrate’s Court at Auckland charged with : escaping from the hospital and robbing the Auckland I Savings Bank of more than is2ooo. i Michael Raureti Cassin, aged 20, an unemployed driver, did not plead. He was remanded in custody to February 16 by Mr J, R. Callander, S.M. Elaine Sharon Mokaraka, aged 19, a domestic, pleaded guilty to receiving $BO from Cassin.
Mr H. Y. Gilliand, S.M., remanded her on bail to February 2 for a probation report and sentence. John Murray Karaitiana, aged 28, who escaped with Cassin, visited the Anchorage drug rehabilitation i centre in Hamilton at 2 a.m. on Thursday in a bid to get help from friends he thought were staying there, according to Detective Sergeant M. Malone. The staff at the centre did not realise until several hours later who their visitor had been. His present whereabouts iare unknown. .
