Board contest
A skateboard ramp-riding competition will be held at Shirley Intermediate School on Saturday afternoon.
A spokesman for the sport said yesterday that the freestyle competition would be open to persons aged 13 or over. The restriction was being imposed for safety reasons.
Each competitor will be required to make 10 runs up to the ramp, with the best five being counted. Points will be awarded for board control, the degree of difficulty of tricks, consistency, and style.
