Mr Ay Bee to be spelled
From J. J. Boyle Wellington Mr Ay Bee had to be scratched from the Wellington Cup on Saturday because of a recurrence of soreness in a leg. He was sore after his gallop at Trentham last Thursday. The Wingatui trainer Tony Prendergast took him to Waikanae for sea bathing, and the five-year-old got some relief, but it was clear late on Friday afternoon that he would not be fit to start. He will be taken south tomorrow and will be spelled in the Blenhei district.
