Kidney-link saves dog
A dog which swallowed a poisonous solution has been kept alive on a kidney ma- j chine for more than 10 days, doctors at Purdue University,l Indiana, have disclosed. ■ The Golden Retriever, called Pooch, was rushed to the university’s school of veterinary medicine and connected to a kidney dialysis machine after drinking anti-freeze. The doctors hoped the dog’s kidneys would heal during a spell on the machine. They said the dog was apparently responding but seemed depressed. I
