NZPA Hobart England was well on the way to victory at the end of the first day, in its three-day match against Tasmania at Hobart yesterday. After dismissing Tasmania for 105. England was 101 for three in .reply at stumps, with the controversial opener. Geoff Boycott, not out on 41, and Bob Taylor yet to score. Scores: Tasmania 165 (T, Decking 39: C. Old 6/42, R. Willis 2/24), England 101/3.
