Situation: A showery, easterly airstream flows over the far north of the North Island; an anticyclone moving east over the Tasman Sea is expected to be over central New Zealand tomorrow; a westerly airstream flows on to the far south of the South Island. Forecasts: Canterbury: Fine and warm;

north-easterlies freshening about the coast this afternoon, light winds inland. Marlborough, Nelson: Some areas of fog at first this morning, but otherwise fine and warm with light winds apart from afternoon sea breezes. Buller, Westland: Fine and mild with light winds. Outlook: Fine in all districts.
