Gang clash hearing

PA Nelson The 22 defendants charged after a clash between rival bikie gangs on January 6 have been remanded to a court hearing in Nelson on February 27.

As each defendant entered the dock in the Magistrate’s Court at Nelson, counsel, Mr J. R. Fardell, entered a plea of not guilty to charges ranging from unlawful assembly to assault.

In every case but one, Mr K. H. J. Headifen, S.M., allowed bail of $BOO with like surety. In some cases, the defendants were instructed to report daily to the police. One defendant was remanded in custody to January 23.
