Television society
Sir, —-I am so relieved to learn that a society is being formed to help make television programmes more acceptable. Surely most folk are sick of these long-endur-ing, sloppy soap operas, and the old, old films, plus all the violence and sex, also letters to a certain person and his panel. We want good drama, lively comedy — something worth while. Otherwise “The Master” stays silent, with only a vase of flowers to grace him, and the rubbish can stay in the mouths of those
who are responsible for these wretched and puerile productions. May I wish this new society all success, and I for one would love to be a member. —Yours, etc., S. A. KENT. Kerikeri. January 10, 1979.
