PA Auckland , The New Zealand man wanted in Britain for the al-1 leged abduction ; of his i daughter, aged two, lan Mal-i colrn Daily, aged 38, will | now remain in cut'ody until he makes a further court appearance on Monoay. Daily, a former security! guard, at Whangarei, was] arrested when he arrived at 1 Auckland Airport with his daughter on Christmas Day. He is being held on a pro-1 visional warrant pending: extradition proceedings in London. lAeanwhile he hasbeen refused bail. His counsel (Mr K. Ryan) I had considered making an application to the Supreme Court, seeking a writ oL Habeas Corpus to free Daily.; However, Mr Ryan said; yesterday that the appli-i cation would not be made before Daily’s scheduled J appearance in the Magis-I trate’s Court at Otahuhu on Monday. He said that if bail was then refused again he would j review the situation and;
consider applying for the writ. It has been alleged that ; Daily assaulted his estranged I wife in London and abducted itheii daughter before boarding an aircraft for New Zealand.
