Wellington in softball final
PA Palmerston North Pitching 13 strike-outs. New Zealand’s top hurler, Kevin Herlihv, led Waikato to a 1-0 win over Otago yesterday in a semi-final match at the Rothmans national men’s softball championships in Palmerston North. Waikato will meet Hutt Valley this morning to decide who will meet Wellington in the final this afternoon. : On Sundav, Wellington beat Waikato, 2-1, after eight innings to advance to the finaL Waikato suffered its second defeat in post section play yesterday when it was beaten 7-0, by Hutt Vailey. In the Headifen Trophy, Canterbury and Hawke's Bay will meet this morning to decide the winner. Both [teams are unbeaten in post[section play and are already (assured of positions in the 'Rothmans Trophy next year.
