A spiintcar driver, Selwyn Ev-| erett, gained the hat-trick xvith; three fine wins in throe starts 1 at Ruapuna Park Speedway on 1 Saturday evening. Everett, in good form after hisi third placing in the South Island’ title meeting last week, was drjx-i ing Roger Gleeson’s sprinter, as I he had blown his own motor! recently. Gleeson's gesture in loaning; his car gained him the ”‘CBA-i Mutual Personality of the Night Award.” The second round of the South I Island Demolition Derbx series xvas won by Trevor Ward <>t Palmerston North. Ward took the $lOOO prize in his Humber Snipe, having gained second place in the same car last week. Gordon Roxburgh won the $2OO Stirrers Award. The combinations headed by Dave Scobie and Wayne Tinner had a win and second each in; the sidecars, but in the opening handicap Bruce Turner mistakenly slowed down after three laps, thinking the race had finished. thereby losing his safe first placing. Tony Briggs continues to impress in the first division solos with txvo good wins, while the national and South Island champion. Larry Ross, had three victories after striking trouble in his first race.
