Andrew appeals in first leg today
By J. J. BOYLE Andrew was denied a star in the Auckland Cup yester day but might pick up t Consolation prize in tht Nathans Memorial, first leg of the Auckland Racinj Club's T A B. double today. Andrew is eight but ht acted young when he fin isiied fast for fourth in tht Summer Cup on the seconc day of the Auckland Cu[ meeting. Arbre Chene is a strong fancy for the George Adam; Handicap, second leg of the T.A.B. double. He was t good third in the corres ponding race at the Mel bourne Cup carnival and has recorded two slashing wins since his return to New Zealand. One of those victories was in the Christmas Handicap, the metric mile on the open day of the Aucklanc Cup carnival. Tang will be another attraction on the final day o 1 the carnival when she attempts to win the eightyfourth Royal Stakes. At 2000 m the Hastings filly should be too strong for the others.
