KZPA-Reuter London The European soccer champion. Liverpool, marked Britain’s Boxing Day holiday by recapturing its goal-scoring form and winning 3-0. against Manchester United. The win kept Liverpool a point clear of the field in the English first division. But its most dangerous rivals. Everton and West Bromwich Albion, also collected impressive victories. Everton overcame Manchester City, which produced one of its best league performances of the season 1-0. with a fierce seventieth minute vollev from BUlv Wright, while West Bromwich won. 2-1. away to fourth club. Arsenal.
Liverpool was at its most majestic, and United, despite the encouragement of a 55,000 capacity crowd, was never in the game Ray Kennedy and Jimmy Case < scored first-half goals and, although Manchester looked a shade less ragged after the
tatei-val, David Fairclough wrapped the game up by beating the defence single-handed and scoring. ENGLISH LEAGUE
