$4O fine for trespass
PA Wellington Te Ringa Mangu Mihaka, also know as Dun Mihaka, ■was fined $4O in the Magistrate’s Court at Wellington yesterday for wilful trespass in Parliament Grounds and was convicted and discharged for failing to give his his particulars. He was sentenced by Mr H. Gilbert, S.M., for the two offences, committed on November 20.
Mihaka sat quietly in court listening to the sentence. When asked if he had anything to say, he said it would be absurd for him to pay a fine for not letting the police fingerprint him. “Whatever the penalty, I will continue to exercise my democratic rights and may take the matter to the Supreme Court and if possible to a higher one,” he said.
