100 ill after hotel fare
PA Wellington At least 100 persons have now gone down with symptoms of food poisoning after eating lunches at lhe James Cook Hotel over the last three days. The outbreak of vomiting and diarrhoea was initially confined to diners who had eaten lunch on Monday and Tuesday. But information was received yesterday that a group of
workers from a Lower Hutt clothing factory had became ill after eating at the hotel on Wednesday The group’s organiser said that 12 of the 15 who had gone to the hotel had suffered stomach cramps and diarrhoea in the early hours of yesterday morning. It could not he blamed on the wine, she said, as some of her party did not drink.
